This is a specific call to Toronto-based members to ask you to pass this call out to your volunteers, if you can.  We need lots of help, this Friday or next Monday!

Many thanks,

Kim

Global citizens,

If you live in Toronto and would like to participate in International Development Week 2008, or if your organization has a large volunteer base, we’d love your help!

As one of our collaborative activities this year, OCIC is preparing a distributing Global Voices, an IDW newspaper profiling the work of many OCIC members, to over 80,000 Ontario residents.  In Guelph, Kitchener-Waterloo, London, Peterborough, Sarnia and Thunder Bay, our distribution will be undertaken through community newspapers.  In Toronto, we plan to place Global Voices in strategic venues, and to distribute papers to people directly.

We Need

§         Volunteers to deliver Global Voices to select community centres, schools, businesses and cafes on Friday February 1st

§         Volunteers to distribute Global Voices at select subway stations on Monday, February 4th from 7:30am to 8:30am & 3:30pm to 5:30pm

We will provide

§         A detailed distribution plan, at a Volunteer Orientation meeting on Thursday, January 31st from 5:00pm to 6:00 pm at OCIC (see address below)

§         An opportunity to mix and mingle with other volunteers, OCIC members and friends at an IDW celebration at Tinto Coffee House (89 Roncesvalles Avenue) on February 7th from 7:00pm
